11:00 - 12:00 Particles Phenomenology Journal Club Eddy magnetization from the chiral Barnett effect School PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS based on: 1808.08016 [hep-ph] Abstract: "In this talk, we discuss about the spin, angular momentum and the magnetic moment of fermions in a chiral fluid. In addition to the chiral vortical contribution along the rotation axis, finite circular spin polarization is induced by the spin-momentum correlation of chiral fermions, which is canceled by a change in the orbital angular momentum. Also it is pointed out that the Eddy magnetic moment is non-vanishing due to the g-factor, exhibiting the chiral Barnett effect."
