| 14:00 - 16:00 Weekly Seminar Cortical Feedback and Visual Processing School COGNITIVE SCIENCES Abstract: Primary Visual Cortex (V1) in primate receives only ~0.2% of its neural inputs from the eye via the lateral geniculate nucleus, yet contemporary models of visual cortical processing assume most information comes directly from the external world. The disparity between anatomical fact and existing models should remind neuroscientists that sensations like vision are combined with a large amount of internal knowledge before they reach our conscious perception.
