Abstract

In this talk after a short review of the recent developments in vibration suppression of elastic structures, we focus on two kinds of actuators to stabilize vibrations of elastic structures:
i)Fluidic Actuators
ii)High frequency excitation actuators(HFEA)
In the first part we study what happens with elastic structures when exposed to fluids? We show that fluid flow can be used as a continuous actuator to suppress unwanted vibrations.
In the second part we study what happens with elastic structures when exposed to high frequency excitations? We will show that HFEA s can be used to suppress unwanted vibrations. This lecture is blended with some desktop demonstrations and video presentations.
